How to convert DVD to Windows Movie Maker in Windows 8/7/XP/Vista

Find the right version of Windows Movie Maker or Windows Live Movie Maker for your system.

Step 1: Download and install the program, then insert your DVD disc to the DVD drive and launch the program.

Step 2: Click the “File” or “Importing logo” in the upper left corner, you can load your DVD to this program.

Step 3: Choose .WMV as output format from the “Common Video” of format Profile list. If you want to get HD Video, you can choose the “HD Video > WMV HD(*.wmv)”.

Tip: 

a: You can customize video and audio settings by hitting “Settings” (e.g. Video Codec, Video Bitrate, Audio Codec, Audio Bitrate, Audio Channel) in the DVD to Windows Movie Maker Video Converter to enhance the experience of enjoying output videos.

b: Generally, you would not import the whole DVD movie into the Windows Movie Maker project. So you can trim the DVD movie and get a certain movie segment. Click ‘Edit’ button, and specify the “Start Time” and “End time” in the output setting area to trim the video.
