Here is a question from our customer:

Now I want do with my .mts files from my Sony Handycam HDR-XR15. First in the Studio 17 editing software & then burned to a DVD to watch on regular TV, or transferred to a Nokia 2520 tablet.

I import some mts fils also without any problems, and I have nice little thumbnails of my .mts files in pinnacle, but I cannot do anything at all with them… when I right click on them and chose “play” absolutely nothing happens, also if I drag the clips to the timeline just before I release it, I can see the yellow bars that indicates how much space it will occupie on the timeline. BUT when I release it, nothing happens not a single error! NADA!

Other standard mpeg files works just fine in pinnacle where i can edit and play them without any problems… If someone here could help me i would be wherry grateful. i am starting to pull my hair out here…

Kind Regards As we know, Pinnacle Studio is a powerful editing tool for videographers. However, it will drive you into trouble when viewing .MTS files in Studio 17. This could happen because of the different codec in a number of MTS files as Pinnacle Studio(even the latest Pinnacle Studio 17) might not support all of these codecs. To get your Studio display Sony HDR-XR15 mts files, you have to change MTS format into Pinnacle friendly MPG format.

Searching for video file converters online, I find an easy to use tool to do the job. Now get Pavtube Video Converter to transcode Sony HDR-XR15 mts files to MPG with least quality loss, which will save you both time and trouble, and all you need is to drag the result videos for prompt editing. For this purpose, this article will show you how to convert Sony HDR-XR15 mts to MPEG-2 in detail.
