As we know, we always have different purposes when we shot recordings with our HD cameras, right? What are you shooting for? For further dispose? For sharing with others? Or just enjoy ourselves? Now, some there asked if there any good suggestions for us to upload the MXF recordings shot by Sony PMW-500 camcorder to BBC’s video digital production system for a broadcast. So let’s edit our MXF recordings for the first step.

However, with the incompatibility of MXF files, it’s not so easy for us to edit our MXF recordings in popular NELs, such as FCP , Premiere Pro , etc. So I think you must need some MXF transcoding tips , right? Someone said we can ask some third-party tools to get a help, but is there any plug-ins that can handle all the NELs? Fortunately, Pavtube Video Converter for Windows / Mac can do this job well.

Designed for converting various video for almost all popular NELs and media devices, Pavtube studio has a good reputation online. Besides the function of encoding and decoding different videos such as MXF, MTS, MOV, AVI, WMV, etc for various devices like Apple/Android/Windows series, media players, game consoles, etc, it also has the strong ability of editing programs as adjusting their video size, etc. Tips: Especially for the Windows version, Pavtube has upgraded it to the latest version 4.8.2.0, which has the capacity of working H.265/HEVC videos. Do you wanna a try? With the higher quality and smaller size, H.265 movies can bring us more. Guide on how to edit your PMW-500MXF recordings in NELs and upload to BBC video digital production system for broadcast:(Mac version as examples.) Step 1 . As soon as you launch the program, open the main interface and we need to load the original MXF files in with ‘ Add video ‘or ‘Add from folder ’ from the left corner. Step 2 . For different NELs, we next should choose different output formats on the output list after clicking the ‘Format’ bar on the left of the preview window. There are specific items for different NELs’ supported formats. For example, if you wanna select the FCP as your favorite, just go to the ‘ Final Cut Pro’ column to find the ‘Apple ProRes Codec 422(*.mov)’ as the best. Notes: For other NELs? Such as iMovie, Adobe, FCE, Avid, etc? You just need to choose a proper video format like “iMovie and Final Cut Express -> Apple InterMediate Codec (AIC) (*.mov)” in the second step. For Avid Media Composer, choose “Avid Media Composer > Avid DNxHD(*.mov)” as output; For Adobe Premiere Pro, choose Adobe Premiere/Sony Vegas> MPEG-2(*.mpg) as output. Step 3. For advanced users, we can go to the ‘Settings ’ button to get more. Here we can adjust our video and audios in our own style. Such as video size, bit rate, frame rate, sample rate and audio channels. We can all have a try. Finally, with all the preparation work done, let’s hit the ‘Convert’ item on the main interface to get the work started. Here I have to admit that it’s indeed an good idea to upload Sony PMW-500 MXF recordings to BBC for broadcasting to our audience after editing with a nice enjoyment. What’s more, here are the transfer steps to FCP and Premiere Pro offered for you guys! More:
