I am working with files from a mobile DVR. The DVR uses H.264 compression and the files are AVI. The files can be opened and view on my PC just fine but cannot be opened on the Mac. To view the files I have been using a program called Elmedia Player. The files also cannot be imported into Premiere Pro CS5 or CC. I do not have Premiere on the PC to be able to try to import there unfortunately.
Any suggestions on what I can install to be able to import the files into Premiere without doing a conversion? If not any other converters that people would recommend? Any further info I have missed that would help?
Maybe other people have same trouble, no worry, keep reading. As we know, AVI is just a container for a video format, and can contain videos encoded in different formats. The error you’re seeing says that Adobe Premiere does not know how to process the video format that’s within the AVI file, that is to say, AVI codec is not recogonized by Premiere Pro.
