Can ‘ t import Sony PMW-EX3 footage with AMA Plug-in

Then I try to import footage from the Sony PMW-EX3 to Avid via AMA, and there is text over my clip now that says “wrong format” in big white letters. So I choose “import” as DNX and it says the file format is not supported for import? I started reading the forums and didn’t find any immediate (and reasonable) solutions. I installed the sony AMA plugin and it didnt work. It didnt fix my problem. I even quit and came back in and that plugin doesn’t seem to let me play those mp4 clips. I’m on a brand new iMac 10.9.4. ANYONE HAVE ANY SOLUTIONS????

After searching for Avid Media Composer supported formats , we find that Avid does not support the real-time editing, rendering of XDCAM EX MP4 files. It also means that Avid has no native importing support for XDCAM EX MP4 files.

Is it possible to access XDCAM EX file with AMA plug-in?

In Sony AMA plug-ins page, we only find the plug-in for XDCAM/HDCAM media and metadata, but not the plug-in for XDCAM EX file.

Avid supports the ability to import XDCAM EX clips which has been rewrapped as MXF files using the Sony Clip Browser Software (for Windows XP and Mac OS X).
