The new Fujifilm X-T2 has better AF and can do UHD 4K video… for 10 minutes. But add a Vertical Power Booster Grip to it and your UHD 4K recording time extends to approximately 30 minutes. Fujifilm X-T2 records in MPEG-4 and outputs its files as .MP4 files (the container). Files are compressed using the h.264 codec (as opposed to AAC or Xvid and DivX usually found in .AVI containers).

However, the old version FCP X or Final Cut Pro 6/7 like many editors use 1080p as primary delivery format and will continue to do so for a long time. If you want to have a smooth Fujifilm X-T2 4K video and FCP workflow, you are advised to convert 4K video to ProRes for further editing in FCP 6/7 and Final Cut Pro X. Besides, the MP4 has complicated codecs, some of which are not supported by FCP X/7. So due to the high 4K resolution and MP4 different codecs, you’d better convert your Fujifilm X-T2 4K Video to Final Cut Pro 7/X Apple ProRes for smooth editing.
